What is one piece of advice you would give to another student preparing to take the DAT?Create a schedule; mapping out exactly what you will be studying each day. This will allow for you to not become overwhelmed as well as not fall behind.
How did you use Crack the DAT to prepare for the DAT?
I created a schedule of what I would do daily. I took an exam of each subject on Monday. Following, I would NOT immediately go through and see what I got wrong. I waited until the Tuesday and then went back through the exam, using the provided diagnostic aids, and I carefully studied the questions that I missed. On Wednesday, I studied those problem areas, which were identified by Crack-the-DAT. I used external sources for this part. Thursday I took another full exam, just as I did on Monday and I followed the same routine as on Tuesday and Wednesday.
What would you do differently to prepare for the DAT?
I studied for several months in preparation for the DAT. My advice for anyone preparing for the exam would be to plan on studying for 2-3 months maximum. I found that I got burned out after 2 months thinking that I still had 3 months to go before the exam. In short, set a date for your exam. Study like crazy for 1-3 months and get it over with.
